Someone’s tracking the Mets’ WPA

I found this note on the ESPN comment board, which lists the Mets’ WPA for their first three games.  As you can see, I’ve asked the poster if he’d be willing to share his results with this blog in the future.  Evidently, someone else is tracking WPA for the Red Sox on the SoSH board.  Got to admit, I’m excited that WPA seems to be catching on.

I have to admit, WPA gets me all in a tizzy. I’ve sometimes dreamt of setting up a WPA-based fantasy league, but of course that would involve people dutifully charting WPA for each team.

I’m sure, however, that a joint effort by fans would make this possible as a collaborative effort. WPA seems to be catching on, and I hope that by next season, a system of centralizing the data can be created.

Or, am I dreaming?
