HOF Win Share tables
January 06, 2005
In case you missed them, Mike Carminati produced the definitive analysis of HOF voting and Win Shares.
I noticed that a few commenters were interested in my HOF and Win Shares table. In case you missed them, Mike Carminati produced the definitive analysis of HOF voting and Win Shares last winter. Here’s a list of links to Mike’s analyses:
- List of how long it takes the average inductee to be elected to the HOF.
- The above, broken out by voting body.
- More Analysis of how the Veteran’s Committe has voted.
- Mike introduces Win Shares into the analysis, looking at voting patterns vs. career Win Shares
- Greater detail on the match between Win Shares and HOF voting, broken out by BBWAA vs. the Veterans’ Committee.
Mike then goes into great detail for each voting year, breaking out how the BBWAA and Veteran’s Committee voted each year for each player, compared to their Win Shares.
Mike then published this summary of the voting analysis, showing that expansion-era players have not done as well as older players in the Voter’s eyes.
Commenting is not available in this channel entry.
